DARLING DOWNS COTTON GROWER'S ASSOCIATION

The association:

The Darling Downs Cotton Growers Association exists to represent all cotton growers across the Darling Downs. We currently have 270 financial members which is approximately 80% of those registered as having grown cotton at some stage.

Our Mission Policy:

To promote professional, sustainable and profitable cotton production practices within the unique Darling Downs farming environment. Our vision is to live and produce cotton in an harmonious relationship within our community and environment.

How we service our members:

. we publish "Cotton Insight", a monthly insert in our local newspaper.
. run a very successful education campaign including local students and children from Brisbane and Toowoomba schools, both on and off farm.
. we hold active "Women in Cotton" informatino meetings on a monthly basis.
. run an awards/competition for raingrown/irrigated grower of the year.
. we liase with other industry bodies on behalf of all growers.
. we are involved in Dalby Cotton Week, a community based festival.
