TRAILblazers 2012 is the program for you.
Here’s what’s waiting for you:
Outdoor Experiential Education. You’re used to having all the details, being in control of information, and taking calculated risks. In this four-day start to the program, we take you out of your comfort zone to test your resilience, insight, decision-making, and leadership in a way that can re-shape your perspective of you and your potential in a powerful way. This has consistently been one of the most powerful aspects of the Foundation’s program, and TRAILblazers delivers in spades. All in a beautiful remote setting.
Social Media – “Get Off the Back Foot Before You Get Stepped On”. Recent events in the live cattle trade and in the middle east have highlighted the power and influence and of social media. It brought an entire industry to its knees and has toppled governments. What issues are current ‘sleepers’ in your sector – are you prepared to deal with the potential maelstrom? As the theme for the course, we will be looking at the challenges and opportunities for social media through various lenses, as well as leave you with practical tools to implement a sound social media strategy.
Craig Rispin – “Think Like A Futurist”. Renown Technology Futurist Craig Rispin will be delivering an intensive workshop where not only will you learn the latest trends affecting your sector and world as a whole, but how to identify and plan for them yourself. Don’t just let the future happen to you – be prepared.
Joanna Maxwell – “Creative and Juicy Thinking”. A former lawyer, Joanna has spanned both intellectual and creative spheres, and worked how to blend them for powerful and innovative solutions to ‘wicked’ problems. Facing some long-standing challenges? A fresh and innovative approach using your whole brain may crack the solution you’ve been longing for.
Maja Stanojevic-Andre - Leadership Maturity Framework. Leadership thinking, attitudes, and strategies evolve with the leader. The complexities of our global communities and industries demand new levels of leadership engagement; what got us here won’t get us where we need to go next. In this workshop, Maja will outline the various stages of leadership maturity, the pitfalls and attributes, where you are on the scale, and how to evolve so you can be more responsive, flexible, influential, and strategic.
Masterminding. On the last day of the program, you will have an opportunity to seek solutions to one of your own challenges. Consistently a highlight in previous programs, Masterminding allows you access to some of the brightest, most experienced leaders, and exploit their experience and opinions to help shape your own solutions to complex issues. Your peers become your ongoing, private network of support.
Overall, TRAILblazers aims to
* Expand leadership frameworks, concepts and strategies for a more resilient and robust approach to handling complex issues;
* Establish new relationships and networks with other leaders across sectors and regions; and
* Develop a fresh perspective and focus for their ongoing professional development and contribution to rural Australia.
The program will begin with a challenge-based educational component, followed by more formal presentations, workshops, and discussions with key speakers.
TRAILblazers only happens once per year, and there are only twelve spots available, so now is the time to reserve a spot for the 2012 program. FRDC and Sugar RDC are also funding one position each, so if you are in either industry, this is your chance to get funded - deadline for applications are 3 February 2012.
